Native American Advancement Foundation (NAAF)

The Native American Advancement Foundation (NAAF) was founded in 2011 by members of the GuVo District, Tohono O’odham Nation. District families have built an organization dedicated to youth education, health and Tohono O’odham culture and language preservation. For the last decade, NAAF has provided academic education and primary prevention through the After School Program and Summer Adventure Program. NAAF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit and an Arizona qualifying charitable organization. NAAF works closely with the GuVo District Council and the community councils of Ali Chugk, Pia Oik, GuVo and Ku:gaj. Programming honors the himdag and research is centered in an indigenous approach.

TONCA Foundation

The TONCA Foundation provides philanthropic support to assist the Tohono O’odham Nursing Care Authority (“TONCA”) to further its mission of care to the elders of the Tohono O’odham Nation. The TONCA Foundation mission is to provide enhancements for the care and well-being of the residents and staff of TONCA’s Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities, and seeks opportunities to support activities, services, and education in the continuum of care for the health of aging Tohono O’odham.

Tohono O’odham Nation Department of Health and Human Services – Division of Senior Services

The Division of Senior Services is one of eight divisions under the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). DHHS is a branch of the Executive Office of the Tohono o’odham Nation. DHHS Senior Services was established by the 1964 Older American Act. DHHS Senior Services continues to provide services through grant and tribal funding to support the following programs: Elder Nutrition Services, Resources and Activities Program, Caregiver Support Services, Adult Care Services, Arizona Long Term Care Systems (ALTCS), and Ombudsman Services.
